Try these checks for Microsoft Authenticator:

1. Make sure the Authenticator app is unlocked. If the app is locked, the prompt or code entry box might not appear.
2. Confirm notifications are not just allowed, but also not silent or disabled. Silent notifications can prevent the authentication prompt from appearing.
3. Update Microsoft Authenticator to the latest version.
4. Check network connectivity. If the phone has connectivity issues, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data and try again.
5. Verify the phone’s date and time are correct.
6. If the app was previously used on an older device, the push notification may still be going there. Check the old device if available.
7. For work or school accounts, open Microsoft Authenticator and pull down to refresh or tap Refresh to check for the approval request.
8. If the sign-in is flagged as anomalous, a push notification might not be sent. In that case, open Microsoft Authenticator manually, refresh, and approve the request there.
9. If available during sign-in, choose an alternative verification method such as SMS or a verification code.
10. If the issue started after reinstalling the app or changing phones, the Authenticator registration may no longer be valid. For a work or school account, contact the IT admin to re-register MFA methods. For a personal account, contact Support.

If an Android device shows "Google Play services are currently unavailable on this device", Authenticator push notifications require Google Play Services and the Google Play Store to be downloaded and enabled.
