Inaccessible organizer account for microsoft family safety family

The organizer account for a family group has become inaccessible and the app is applying restrictions that are no longer wished to be applied. Is there any way to remove child/member accounts from the family without accessing the organizer account? The restrictions had somehow been disabled prior, but after a recent update of my computer, they have been reapplied.

    I understand how frustrating this is, especially since the restrictions returned after the computer update.

    Unfortunately, family members cannot remove a child/member account or change its restrictions without access to a family organizer account. Only organizers can add or remove members and manage limits, permissions, and parental consent.

    Here are what you can try:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Family page using the affected member account and check whether Leave family group appears beside the account.
    2. If the option is unavailable, try recovering the organizer account using the Microsoft Sign-in Helper or the https://account.live.com/acsr.

    If the organizer account cannot be recovered, contact Microsoft Support while signed in with an accessible Microsoft account:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support 
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.  
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account. 
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm 
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window. 

    When contact, explain that the member is stuck in a Family Safety group with an inaccessible organizer and that restrictions were reapplied after a Windows update.
