Unable to log into one note

Hi am using IPhone 17, software is updated. Am unable to log into my one note account. All other office 365 apps are working perfectly. Have even tried to login via OneDrive but no success.

everytime I try login to one note it gets into a vicious loop of sign in -> Authenticator -> sign in and this just goes on and on.

Same issue, same phone. All software is up to date. Only happening with one note. I have reinstalled the app as well as the authenticator app.

We installed Word mobile, signed-in, passed MFA with Authenticator (got the usual MAM notifications about it protecting our data), reopened Word, opened OneNote and it was allowed to sign-in directly without needing to go to Authenticator.

I still think OneNote is boogered, but that work around worked for us.

Many thanks fr the workaround, your advise was super helpful, followed it and now i have been able to log into one note and fr now seems to be working.

Thanks fr prompt reply, please note -

The issue is only occuring in the one note app, have been able to log into one note from the safari browser.
It redirects me to authenticator fr approval.
Using the same credentials i am logged into one note on my compouter.

I am having the same issue with the exact same specifics as yours (ok online, redirects to authenticator but comes back to sign in page, PC is fine)

Based on what you've shared:

You can access OneNote successfully through Safari.

The issue only occurs in the OneNote app on your iPhone.

Authentication redirects correctly to Microsoft Authenticator, but then returns to the sign-in page and repeats the process.

The same account works normally in OneNote on your computer.

From what I've seen in community discussions, a number of users have reported similar sign-in loop behavior in OneNote on iOS. Because the account works on other devices and through the web, this may be related to a client-side bug or an issue that requires investigation by Microsoft's product team.

At this point, I would recommend submitting feedback directly through the Microsoft Feedback Portal:

When submitting feedback, include details such as:

Device model (iPhone 17)

iOS version

OneNote app version (if available)

Description of the sign-in loop: Sign in > Microsoft Authenticator approval > returned to sign-in screen > repeats continuously

Currently, I am not aware of any official service advisory or documented fix for this specific behavior. If the issue is related to the app itself or a backend service, it can only be fully investigated by Microsoft's engineering teams. User reports help them identify patterns and prioritize a resolution.

If this is a work or school account, I would also suggest contacting your Microsoft 365 administrator and asking them to report the issue through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Reports submitted by administrators go directly through Microsoft's support channels and can help with tracking and investigation.

The administrator can:

Open the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Go to Health > Service health

Select Report an issue and provide the details

I understand that OneNote on your iPhone is stuck in a sign-in loop between the sign-in page and Microsoft Authenticator, while other Microsoft 365 apps are working normally.

To help narrow down the issue, could you please provide the following details:

2/ Is the issue occurring only in the OneNote mobile app, or are you also unable to access OneNote via a web browser?

3/ When you mention the flow is Sign in > Authenticator > Sign in, does OneNote redirect you to the Microsoft Authenticator app for approval, or is it asking you to enter a verification code from the Authenticator app?

4/ If it is requesting a verification code, do you see a valid code being generated in the Microsoft Authenticator app for the affected account?

5/ Are you able to sign in to the same account using OneNote on another device (PC, Mac, or another mobile device)?
