Microsoft Help desk hangs up on me

I've been trying for 2 days to get my student bundle activated after purchasing a Surface Laptop for college. It will not recognize my purchase as part of the bundle. I just got hung up on by the helpdesk after waiting for over 1 hour on hold. I'm no closer to getting everything set up and I leave for school. Having spent over $2000 you would think someone could help me. I just want Microsoft to hold their end of the deal and give me the prompt to activate my student account, M365 and Xbox + controller.

    Dear @Riley Angelo,

I completely understand your frustration. Let's get your student bundle features Microsoft 365, Xbox Game Pass, and controller activated right away so you are ready for school.

When you purchase a Surface bundle from the Microsoft Store, digital items (like Microsoft 365 and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions) are tied directly to the device's hardware (Motherboard/Digital Direct) rather than being sent via physical product keys.

To claim them manually on your Surface:

    A. Claiming Microsoft 365

    1. Open the Microsoft Store app on your new Surface Laptop.
    2. Ensure you are signed in with the Microsoft Account you plan to use for college.
    3. Click on the Library icon in the bottom-left corner.
    4. Select the Included with device tab.
    5. You should see your Microsoft 365 subscription listed here. Click Claim or Activate.

Alternatively, open the Settings app > Accounts > Included with this device.

    B. Claiming Xbox Game Pass & Controller Offer

    1. Open the Xbox app on your Surface Laptop.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft Account.
    3. You will see a banner at the top stating "You got Game Pass" or "Included with this PC". Click Claim.
    4. For the physical controller (if it was a promotional redemption code rather than shipped in the box), check the inbox of the email address used to make the purchase for a redemption link from the Microsoft Store.

If the "Included with device" section is empty, the digital entitlement was not automatically provisioned to your Surface’s serial number during order fulfillment.

To resolve this immediately without getting stuck on phone hold:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com/orders and log in.
    2. Locate your Surface purchase order and download your Proof of Purchase / Invoice.
    3. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus - sign in with your account
    4. Select Microsoft Store > Orders and Purchases.
    5. Choose Chat with a support agent rather than phone support. Chat support allows you to upload your order invoice directly so the agent can manually attach the digital license entitlement to your account without long hold times.

If you have any updates or further questions, please feel free to reply here, I’ll do my best to support you however I can.
