Hi all

I have accidentally switched off my microphone and video on Teams chat. I went to Settings on Teams, then Devices. However, there was no option to switch them on.I clicked on the camera icon on Teams and his is the message: **Are you sure you don't want audio or video? If you change your mind, select the camera icon by your address bar and then Always allow.**Continue without audio or video

But there was no option ALWAYS allow as it wasn't clickable. Please help me.Thanks.

Hi Zdravka

Good day. Thank you for sharing the details of your situation.

As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or review the backend systems to diagnose and resolve this issue for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance by offering clear next steps, sharing applicable resources, and directing you to the appropriate support channels so you can work with the right team to investigate further.

Based on the message you received, it looks like Microsoft Teams may not currently have permission to access your microphone and camera through the browser. The “Always allow” option is usually not found under Teams Settings > Devices. Instead, it is normally managed from your browser’s address bar, using the lock, camera, or site permission icon next to the website address.

Here are some steps you can try:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams in your browser.
  2. Look at the address bar and select the lock icon, camera icon, or site permissions icon.
  3. Make sure the following permissions are set to Allow:
    • Camera
    • Microphone
  4. User's image
  5. Refresh the Teams page.
  6. Rejoin the meeting or call and check if audio and video are available.

If you do not see the option to allow access from the address bar, please try the following additional steps:

  1. Open your browser settings.
  2. Go to Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions
  3. User's image
  4. Check the permissions for Camera and Microphone.
  5. Make sure Microsoft Teams is not listed under blocked sites.
  6. If it is blocked, remove it from the blocked list or change the setting to Allow.

You may also check your Windows privacy settings:

  1. Go to Windows Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & security.
  3. Open Camera and make sure camera access is enabled.
  4. Open Microphone and make sure microphone access is enabled.
  5. User's image
  6. Restart Teams or refresh the browser page after making these changes.

If the issue continues, please try joining the meeting using an InPrivate or Incognito browser window, a different browser such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, or the Teams desktop application.
