Closing web site and want to keep email active

1. Is the email address an @outlook.com or @hotmail.com address, or does it use your website domain?
2. Who currently provides the email service: Microsoft 365, GoDaddy, your website host, or another company?
3. Will you continue renewing the domain name after the website closes?

It uses the website domain and the email service is a Microsoft account - the website host has provided the needed links (hopefully that makes sense). I will renew the domain name through GoDaddy after I shut down the website.

You can close the website and keep the domain email active. However, renewing the domain alone is not enough. You must also keep the Microsoft email subscription active and leave the email DNS records connected to Microsoft.
