    Try these checks in order:

    1. Open Microsoft Authenticator manually
Some sign-in requests do not generate a push notification. Open the app, pull down to refresh or tap Refresh, and check whether the approval prompt is waiting there.
    2. Make sure the app is unlocked
If Authenticator is locked, the entry box might not appear and authentication can fail.
    3. Check notification settings on the phone
Ensure notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator and that the phone is not in Do Not Disturb or Quiet mode.
    4. Check network connectivity
Make sure the device has internet access. Switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data can help.
    5. Update the app
An outdated Microsoft Authenticator app can cause notification issues. Install the latest version.
    6. Verify date and time settings
Set the device clock to automatic. Incorrect time settings can cause notifications to expire or authentication to fail.
    7. If only one account is affected, remove and add that account again
If notifications work for some accounts but not one specific account, remove the problematic account from Authenticator, add it again, and allow notifications during setup.
    8. If the phone was recently changed, check the old device
The push notification may still be going to the previous phone where Authenticator was last active. If available, approve the sign-in there, then remove the old device registration.
    9. If using Android for a work or school account
Push notifications require Google Play Services and the Google Play Store to be downloaded and enabled.
    10. If using Android in China
Notification through mobile app does not work on Android devices there because Google Play services, including push notifications, are blocked. iOS notifications do work, and alternate authentication methods should be available.
    11. If still not working
    • For a personal account, contact Support.
    • For a work or school account, contact the IT admin.
    • If locked out as the only admin, this can require a support ticket to restore access.
