A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
If this is a personal Microsoft account, get a new QR code from the account security page:
- Sign in to your Microsoft account Security tab at https://account.microsoft.com/security.
- Select Manage how I sign in.
- Select Add a new way to sign in or verify.
- Choose Use an app.
- If Authenticator is already associated with the account, select Set up a different Authenticator app and then Next to display a new QR code.
- Open Microsoft Authenticator on the phone, select the plus icon, choose Personal account, and scan the QR code.
- If scanning does not work, select I can't scan the bar code on the PC and Enter code manually in the app.
If this is a work or school account, get the QR code from the Security info page:
- Sign in to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
- Select Add sign-in method.
- Choose Microsoft Authenticator and select Add.
- If Authenticator is already installed, select Next to display the QR code.
- In the Authenticator app, select the plus icon, then Add account > Work or school account > Scan a QR Code.
- If the camera cannot be used, select Can't scan the image on the PC and Enter code manually in the app.
If sign-in is blocked because the deleted app was the only verification method, use another available sign-in method first. For a work or school account, an admin may need to help re-register MFA if no other method is available.
