PROBLEM
Every attempt fails at the Verified ID sharing step with:
"Verification failed. Please acquire another Verified ID using a
government-issued ID that contains your home address."
The Verified ID stored in Microsoft Authenticator is issued by AU10TIX and
titled "Government Issued ID - GLOBAL". It was created from my Canadian
passport. Canadian passports contain NO address field, so the credential
carries no address attribute and can never satisfy this requirement.
WHY I CANNOT SIMPLY USE ANOTHER DOCUMENT
- Canadian passport: no address field at all.
- Quebec driver's licence: my licence shows my PREVIOUS address. In Quebec, the SAAQ does not reissue the card on an address change; it mails an adhesive sticker to apply to the existing card. My sticker is worn off and unreadable. A current printed address is therefore unobtainable until the licence's normal renewal.
- Quebec does not issue a standalone non-driver photo ID card.
- The health insurance card (RAMQ) carries no address.
There is effectively no Canadian government photo ID that shows my current
home address.
WHAT THE FLOW ACTUALLY DOES
Scanning the QR code goes straight to a facial scan. It never asks for a
document and never offers to upload a proof of address, because it reuses the
existing AU10TIX credential. The face scan passes (two green checkmarks); only
the sharing step fails.
QUESTIONS
- How can a Canadian individual developer obtain a Verified ID that carries a home address, given the above?
- Your documentation lists supplemental proof-of-address documents (utility bills, bank statements under 3 months). I have a recent Hydro-Quebec bill showing my name and current address. How do I submit it? The flow never offers an upload step.
- Each verification link is single-use and is consumed even on failure, forcing a brand-new identity validation request each time. Can a link be regenerated without recreating the request?
