Renewed my plan for ******@gmail.com and payment made. Account status still shows expired.

What I've already tried:

  • Confirmed I'm signed into the same Microsoft account used to renew
  • Fully signed out and options / billing history page for the transaction

Despite all of this, the status still reads Expired even though the payment was completed. Could you please verify the payment on my account and correct the subscription status to reflect the renewal?

Account email: ******@gmail.com

Approximate renewal/payment date: Paid $129.99 to Microsoft on July 7, 2026, posted July 8, 2026 on Capital One VISA credit card

Payment confirmation/order number: Order # [Removed to protect privacy]

Thank you for your help resolving this.

I can't find any recent similar issues like yours, however, it is also possible that they haven't been widely reported yet.

In the meantime, I recommend reinstalling Windows 11 via Settings and performing an in-place upgrade. Here's how:

Go to Settings > System > Recovery.

  • In "Fix problem using Windows Update", click "Reinstall now".
  • This will download Repair Upgrade and reinstall Windows similar to an In-Place Upgrade, preserving your apps, files, and settings.

The process will download and restart your PC several times. This may take some time, so please be patient and do not interrupt the process.

Let me know how it goes after. Thanks!

Thanks, could you double-check if the same account owns the subscription that is currently signed in and not a family member's account?

Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that the subscription is linked to. Then, open any Office app (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and click "Update License" to refresh your subscription status.
