Battery Microsoft app

Battery optimization is usually not turned off inside the Microsoft app itself. On Android, it is typically changed in the device settings.

For Microsoft Defender on Android, the steps are:

1. Open Settings on the phone.
2. Go to the app settings for Microsoft Defender.
3. Open Battery.
4. Turn on Allow background activity or set battery use to Unrestricted, if those options appear.
5. Open Battery optimization.
6. Find Microsoft Defender and set it to Don’t optimize.

Some devices also require these extra settings:

• Turn off system battery optimization or adaptive battery for the app.
• Make sure the app can keep running even when it is not actively open.

After changing those settings, open the Microsoft Defender app again and follow the prompts on the Device protection or web protection card to turn protection back on.
