Switching from Office Home & Business 2021 to Microsoft 365

I just purchased Microsoft 365 which I installed on my MacBook Pro, without uninstalling my previous local version of Office 2021.

It seems that my apps remain unchanged after completing installation; for example, my Excel version shows Version 16.111.1 (26071913) Licence: Office Home & Business 2021, instead of mentioning Microsoft 365 version.

What should I do to switch to the new updated version of my apps??

Close any open Office app.

Use the steps on this link to download the Office licence removal tool, and use that to remove the current Office licence on your Mac.

Then, open an Office app and log in with the Microsoft account you used to purchase the Microsoft 365 subscription.
