Hi Al W,
I understand that your Starkey Omega AI 24 hearing aids were working normally as an audio output device for months, but after a Windows update they are still shown as connected everywhere in Windows while no audio is actually playing through them.
Since the hearing aids were previously working, please try the following:
1, Check whether Windows is using LE Audio
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Scroll down and look for "Use LE Audio when available".
- If the option exists, try turning it Off, wait a few seconds, then turn it On again.
- Test audio playback.
2, Remove and re-pair the hearing aids
Since the issue started after an update, Windows may have retained an outdated Bluetooth profile.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Select the Starkey hearing aids and choose "Remove device".
- Restart the PC.
- Put the hearing aids into pairing mode and pair them again.
3, Verify the actual playback device during audio playback
While audio is playing:
- Click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
- Select the audio output menu.
- Confirm that the Starkey hearing aids are selected instead of another audio device.
- Test with a system sound such as Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings > Playback > Test.
4, Check whether the update replaced the Bluetooth driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
- Let me know:
- The Bluetooth adapter model (Intel, Realtek, Qualcomm, etc.)
- The driver version shown on the Driver tab.
- Approximately which Windows update was installed before the problem started.
