Half of table invisible on SharePoint

Thank you for sharing your concern.  

Based on what you described, the affected table may have settings such as table alignment, indentation, preferred width, column width, text wrapping, or AutoFit configuration that cause part of the table to extend beyond the page area when viewed in SharePoint. 

Please see the following workarounds that will help you verify the issue:  

Open the file from the SharePoint document library in Word for Mac, as the desktop app gives you access to all table formatting options and makes it easier to check settings that may not be visible in Word for the web. 

Option 1: Use AutoFit to fit the table within the page width 

If the table has become wider than the available page area, AutoFit can automatically resize it. 

Click anywhere inside the middle table. 

Go to the Table Layout tab. 

Select AutoFit. 

Choose AutoFit Window. 

Save the document and check whether the table is now fully visible. 

Option 2: Verify the table alignment and indentation 

A large left indentation can cause the table to shift outside the visible page area. 

Click anywhere inside the middle table. 

Right click the table and select Table Properties. 

On the Table tab, set Alignment to Left. 

Check Indent from left and set it to 0 if a value is present. 

Select OK and save the document. 

Option 3: Check the table width 

If the preferred width is set too large, part of the table may extend beyond the page margin. 

Right click inside the middle table and select Table Properties. 

On the Table tab, review the Preferred width setting. 

If the value appears unusually large, reduce it to a smaller value that fits within the page. 

Select OK and save the document. 

Option 4: Review column widths 

Sometimes a single column with excessive width can cause the entire table to extend off the page. 

Click anywhere inside the middle table. 

Go to the Table Layout tab. 

Review the column widths under Cell Size. 

Reduce any unusually wide columns as needed. 

You may also select AutoFit and choose AutoFit Contents to allow Word to resize columns based on their content. 

Save the document and test again. 

Option 5: Check text wrapping settings 

If the table is positioned as a floating object rather than inline with the document text, it may appear shifted or partially hidden. 

Right click inside the middle table and select Table Properties. 

On the Table tab, review Text Wrapping. 

If Around is selected, change it to None. 

Select OK and save the document. 

Reopen the file and confirm whether the table displays correctly.
