Can't remove child account because "Remove consent" is missing

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with Microsoft Family and I can't figure out how to fix it.

I have access to both the parent accounts and the child account. (this one) The child account has the wrong date of birth because I accidentally entered 2015 when I created the account years ago. My actual date of birth is September 2, 2009.

When I try to remove the child account from the Microsoft Family group, Microsoft tells me that I must remove consent first.

However, when I click Manage consent, there is no "Remove consent" button. It only opens an information page explaining parental consent and links me back to the Family page. I end up stuck in the same loop every time.

I've already tried:

Using Microsoft Edge.

Using a private/incognito window.

Signing in to both the parent and child accounts.

Checking the Family settings multiple times.

The child's date of birth is also locked, so I can't correct it.

Has anyone experienced this before or found a way to remove the consent or the child account? I am gonna buy some games from microsoft store but I dont want to do that on a account thats birth date Is set to 2015. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello

Two separate issues here.

You actually want to correct the birthday year before you remove the child member from family.

Go to https://account.live.com/mykids.aspx sign in with the organizer account, you should see your "child" account listed. Click on "Edit this child's personal info" And it will let you update the date of birth for this child user.

User's image

After that, you can try to remove consent. If the remove consent option is not available, Try this link https://account.live.com/unmanagekid.aspx It might still load the same blank page, but then click on View your Family Settings, and then three dots > manage consent, it might eventually load.. Try a few times. This issue happened not too long ago and it was server side glitch, If it still doesn't load, I am afraid you would have to wait til Microsoft fixes this on their end.
