Showing Created Date in Highlighted Content SharePoint Webpart

I'm trying to use the Highlighted Content webpart to list PDFs that have been uploaded within the past month. I was able to configure the webpart to work as expected but I'm seeing "Modified" and "Modified By" columns on the front end webpart and when you select "See all". How can I switch "Modified" to "Created" and remove the "Modified By" column?

The library I'm using has "Modified", "Modified By", "Created", and "Created By" so all of those fields are populated.

I saw a comment with a work around 2019 and then another post from 2023 that says it's not possible but it's been a few years so I'm hoping something was released?

Hi Renee,

For your concern, unfortunately, as of now, those displayed fields are still not configurable in the Highlighted Content web part. SharePoint does not expose a setting for column modification in the list output so you cannot switch/edit the standard "Modified" and "Modified By" columns in Highlighted Content web part.

The most suggested workaround for this limitation of Highlighted Content is to use the Document Library web part instead. It maybe not as neat as the Highlighted Content but the Document Library web part can display a specific view from the library so you can control which columns appear such as Name, Created and optionally Created By while hiding Modified and Modified By.

I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for. As a forum moderator, I work independently of the product team, and I don't have visibility into internal design decisions or the ability to adjust how the feature behaves. I can only help confirm how the product currently works and make sure you have clear information.

That said, if this is affecting your workflow or if you think this is an area that should be improved, I sincerely encourage you to submit suggestions directly to the team through the official feedback community: SharePoint · Community. The product team doesn't actively monitor issues on this forum, so submitting feedback through official channels ensures that your input is truly communicated to them. Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.

I greatly appreciate your time bringing up this concern. I'm sure there are other users who have been in the same situation but don't know where to share their feedback, so hopefully you will upvote this post if you can. This will help pin the post on the top, making it easier for other users who may be experiencing the same issue to find your post, understand the context, and support your feedback. Your voice matters, and collective feedback is one of the most effective ways to drive meaningful improvement.

While I can't change the product's design, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions about its current functionality.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
