Why do I get updates to my Microsoft 365 suite of applications

I have been getting updates to my Microsoft 365 suite of applications almost every other day. I am running the application on a MacBook pro. It is getting a little annoying that these updates seem to be coming every other day. Just venting but would like an explanation. Are there so many holes in the application that security updates are needed that often? Thanks for your response and/or listing to my rant.
