Hello Carl Aiken,
Thank you for attaching the PDF. The screenshots confirm that Windows detects the USB correctly as Disk 1, a 57.62 GB removable drive, assigned E: and currently formatted as exFAT. The problem is therefore limited to the Recovery Drive tool.
Please work through these steps:
- Restart Recovery Drive, uncheck "Back up system files to the recovery drive", and select Next.
- If E: now appears, create the basic recovery drive.
- If E: still does not appear, continue below.
- Open Disk Management, right-click the E: partition on Disk 1, select Delete Volume, and leave the USB as Unallocated. Then reopen Recovery Drive.
- If the USB appears only with the system-files option cleared, open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
reagentc /info. If Windows RE status shows Disabled, run:reagentc /enable - Then restart Windows and retry with "Back up system files to the recovery drive" selected.
- If Recovery Drive still cannot list the USB, use Microsoft’s Windows 11 installation media instead. It can boot the computer into Windows Recovery Environment and provide recovery tools even when a Recovery Drive cannot be created.
