I am trying to move a recently created form into an existing collection. I tried hovering over the three dots, but I only get an option to add the form to a group, which is not what I want. How do I move the form to a collection?

I'm having this exact same issue. I can move quizes to 'groups' (which are groups set up in Teams) but I can't organise forms into existing collections within Forms itself. I used to be able to do this.

Hi Laura,

If "Move to a collection" doesn't appear, please note that collections only work with personal forms that you own. If the form is a Group Form, a form shared with you by someone else, or located under My Groups, then it cannot be organized into personal collections. Only your own personal forms can be added to collections.

If you only see "Move to a group" and do not see "Move to a collection", please try to do that in the All My Forms view and create a collection first if it's not available yet.

Try the following:

In Microsoft Forms, scroll down to the bottom of your page and select All My Forms.
On the All forms tab, select New Collection.
Provide a name for your collection and select Create. Your new collection will appear as a tile in the first spot of the top row of your forms.

Note: If you don't see form tiles, you might be in "List view" instead of "Tiles view." You can toggle between the two by selecting the View Options drop-down to the right of the search box.
To move a form or quiz into your new collection, hover over the form or quiz tile and select More options > Move to a collection. Select the new collection.

You can move any form or quiz into your new collection by also using drag and drop.

5. You'll see the form or quiz you just moved appear as a thumbnail in the collection tile.

Thanks Alexis, but this doesn't work for me. I've seen advice elsewhere online to go to "All My Forms," but that option does not exist on my page (see attached screenshot of bottom of my Forms page). And I have already created a collection, so I don't need to create another one. I simply need to move an existing recent form into an already existing collection. I don't understand why this isn't obvious or intuitive. Again, there is no "All My Forms" option on my page. Any other suggestions?

Are you using a personal Microsoft account (Hotmail, Gmail, outlook.com...) or a school account (@yourschool.edu, @onmicrosoft.com....)?

Hi Laura,

It looks like the version you're using may have received a newer interface update. Could you please confirm whether your current interface looks the same as the one shown in my screenshot?

Currently, if you go to Microsoft Forms, you will find the My forms tab.

Once there, you'll be able to drag and drop your forms into the desired collection, and the "Move to a collection" option should also become available.

In the example below, you can see that my Employee Satisfaction Survey form can be moved to the ABC collection.

If you're viewing the form from the Recent tab, your existing collections won't be displayed, and the "Move to a collection" option won't be available, even if the form belongs to you.

My interface does look the same, yes. However, when I click on My forms, only collections appear there; no single forms appear there.

I can't reproduce this behavior in my test environment, and I'm concerned that this may be a more complex issue that cannot be resolved from the end-user side alone.

Since the issue appears to involve how Forms is displaying and indexing forms within the My Forms and Collections experience, the support team may need to investigate the behavior on the service side.

At this point, I recommend contacting your school's IT administrator and asking them to open a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center on your behalf.

This route ensures that a Microsoft support engineer can initiate a remote session to investigate backend configurations, run advanced diagnostic tools, and, if necessary, escalate the case to specialized teams with access to internal systems and logs.
