Hello,

With the update, I have several email chains that are not showing attachments in earl portions of the conversation. How do I change the settings to show attachments in the email chain as I'm scrolling down to see what everyone said? I'm noticing that they are talking about attachments that are not there and I'm a part of the email chain, the emails are not being forward to me.

Hi Ruark,

Good day and thank you for the clear description of your concern.

From your description and the selected product tag, I understand that you are trying to view attachments from earlier messages while reading an email conversation in Outlook on the web.

Based on my research, this appears to be expected behavior. In Outlook, attachments are associated with the specific message in which they were originally sent. When someone replies to a message that contains an attachment, the attachment is not automatically included in the reply. This is intended to prevent mailbox clutter and save storage space.

Just a quick note as well: this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators here, including myself, are regular users too and don’t have the ability to change or influence Microsoft product features or design decisions. What we can do is share findings, observed behaviors, and practical tips based on experience and available information.

I do agree that having the ability to quickly view attachments from all messages within a conversation could save a significant amount of time, especially in longer email threads and other users may find this functionality beneficial as well. Sharing experiences like this can be valuable for the product team when they evaluate future improvements. For that reason, I recommend submitting your feedback through the Outlook (new) · Community, where customer input is reviewed and helps bring attention to areas that may benefit from enhancement.

Additionally, since many other users have raised similar concerns but may not be aware of where to submit product feedback, if my response has helped clarify the situation and pointed you toward a possible next step, please consider upvoting it. Your action will help pin this post to the top, making it easier for others in the community who are experiencing the same issue to find your feedback and support it.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
