A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
Hi,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve lost your OneNote notes.
To better understand what happened, could you let me know:
- Was this a notebook stored in OneDrive/ SharePoint (Microsoft 365 for Business) or a local notebook on your PC?
- Which version of OneNote are you using (OneNote for Windows, OneNote desktop, or OneNote on the web)?
- Did the entire notebook disappear, or are only certain sections or pages missing?
In the meantime, you can try the following:
- Check whether the notebook is still available in OneDrive or SharePoint and confirm you’re signed in with the correct work account.
- In OneNote, go to History > Notebook Recycle Bin (if available) to see whether the missing pages or sections can be restored.
- If the notebook is stored in OneDrive, also check the OneDrive Recycle Bin for deleted notebook files.
You can find Microsoft’s guidance here:
- Restore deleted notes in OneNote: Recover deleted notes | Microsoft Support
- Restore deleted files from the OneDrive recycle bin: Restore deleted files or folders in OneDrive | Microsoft Support
I look forward to your update.
