    Hi Catherine,

Good day, and thank you for your clear description of what you are trying to achieve.

Based on my research, Microsoft Forms includes a Get email notification of each response setting, which allows the form owner to receive an email notification whenever someone submits a response. However, Microsoft Forms does not currently provide a built-in setting to automatically send an email to the person who completed the form.

If your goal is simply to display a confirmation message to respondents after they submit the form, you can customize the Thank you message by opening the form and navigating to Settings > Customize thank you message.

    User's image

This message appears immediately after submission and can be used to provide confirmation, next steps, or any additional information you would like respondents to see. Please note that this message is displayed on-screen only and is not sent as an email.

I agree that the ability to send a customized confirmation email directly from Microsoft Forms would be a useful and professional feature, and I can certainly see how it could benefit many users. At this time, I would encourage you to submit feedback to the Microsoft Forms product team through the Microsoft Forms · Community. Customer feedback plays an important role in influencing product enhancements, and your voice could help bring attention to a feature that many people would truly benefit from.

Just a quick note as well: this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators here, including myself, are regular users too and don’t have the ability to change or influence Microsoft product features or design decisions. What we can do is share findings, observed behaviors, and practical tips based on experience and available information.

If you decide to submit feedback and are comfortable doing so, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’d be glad to upvote it to help increase its visibility.

Additionally, since many other users have raised similar concerns but may not be aware of where to submit product feedback, if my response has helped clarify the situation and pointed you toward a possible next step, please consider upvoting it. Doing so can help make this discussion more visible to others in the community who may be experiencing the same issue and are looking for guidance or a way to support similar feedback.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
