How to fix not being able to change font of outlook signature

I can't change the font of my outlook signature. Originally I was trying to change it to a font I downloaded, so thought there might be a problem there, but it's happening with all fonts. I go into signature > manage and then change fonts like normal and there just is no change. I've checked and it happens with any font. Really frustrating and no idea how to fix.

From your description, it sounds like Outlook is recognizing your font changes in the signature editor, but the changes are not actually being applied to the signature content.

A few things I'd suggest checking:

  1. Create a brand-new signature for testing
    • Go to Outlook > Settings > Signatures. User's image
    • Create a completely new signature.
    • Type a simple line such as: Test Signature
    • Change the font to a standard macOS font such as Arial, Helvetica, or Times New Roman.
    If the font changes correctly in the new signature, the original signature may contain formatting that is preventing the font change from being applied.
  • Avoid copying content from Word, websites, or old emails If every newly created signature shows the same behavior, it may point to an Outlook-related issue rather than a problem with a specific signature.
  1. Test in a new email
    • After saving the signature, create a brand-new message and verify whether the font appears correctly there.
    • Sometimes the editor preview and the actual composed message do not behave exactly the same way.

Could you let me know:

  • Does the font fail to change in the signature editor itself, or only after inserting the signature into an email?
  • If you create a completely new test signature with only a few words of text, does the problem still occur?

    Thank you for your quick response - it is now partially resolved! It appears the problem was trying to edit pasted text. When I highlighted any text and changed the font, it would only change to aptos, but had no problem typing in a different text. Thank you!
