Child account password reset

I'm the Microsoft Family Organizer. I created my 9-year-old daughter's Outlook account. She is still listed in my family, and I control the recovery email. The account has only ever been used for Minecraft on Nintendo Switch. The automated account recovery form is denying the request. Is there any way to verify ownership of a child account and reset the password?

    Thank you for the information.

If the account has a verification method and you still have access to it, you may reset the password using your daughter's account on account.microsoft.com > click on "Forgot Password" > provide the codes from your verification method > then reset the password.

If the account has no verification methods and since the account does not have 2FA, I'm afraid the only way to recover the account is through the account recovery web form: https://account.live.com/acsr

You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft, and you can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

If your Microsoft account recovery request was not granted, please review this link for tips on improving your chances of a successful recovery: https://support.microsoft.com/office/dc56c3e3-dff0-4ed5-8edb-60290eea6b53

Please be advised that Microsoft Support will not be able to grant you access to your daughter's account.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Just to confirm, did it have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account?

If yes, are you able to access the second factor of authentication? Is the recovery email address linked to your daughter's account still active?

Important: If she has an active 2FA, ACSR will inform you that your recovery request will be ignored. If you only receive a message that the recovery request is either successful or indicates insufficient information, this means that 2FA is disabled.

Also, may I know when was the last time she successfully signed in to her account?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
