Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
Hi James Forney
I understand that the Outlook Notes folder shows 81 items, but only 3 notes are visible after removing and re-adding the account on your iPhone. I am happy to help. Please reply with only these details:
- Are the 81 items shown in Outlook.com on the web, or only on the iPhone?
- Are the missing notes visible when you search in Outlook.com?
- Were the notes created in iPhone Notes, Outlook Notes, Sticky Notes, or OneNote?
Please try the steps below:
1) Check the Notes folder in Outlook.com
Sign in to Outlook.com from a browser using the same account, then open the Notes folder.
Sticky Notes in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web can be viewed from the Notes folder and sync with the same Microsoft account used for Sticky Notes, OneNote mobile, or Microsoft Launcher. For more details, see: Create, edit, and view sticky notes in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web | Microsoft Support
2) Search inside Outlook.com
In Outlook.com, search for words or phrases that may appear inside one of the missing notes. If the notes are still stored in the mailbox but are not showing normally, search may help locate them.
3) Check Deleted Items and recover deleted items
If the notes were deleted during the sync process or while removing and re-adding the account, check Deleted Items first.
If they are not there, open Deleted Items, then use Recover items deleted from this folder. For more information, see: Recover and restore deleted items in Outlook | Microsoft Support
4) Confirm Notes is enabled on the iPhone account
On your iPhone, go to:
- Settings
- Accounts
- Select your Outlook.com account
- Confirm that Notes is turned on
If Notes is turned off, the iPhone Notes app may not show all notes from that account.
5) Check whether the notes were stored locally on the iPhone
If the missing notes were stored only on the iPhone and were not synced to Outlook.com before the account was removed, they may not be recoverable from Outlook.com. In that case, please check whether you have an iPhone backup from before the account was removed.
Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
