Feature Proposal: Compact Working Hours View (Teams and Outlook Calendar)

Dear Microsoft Teams Product Team,

I would like to propose a feature that could significantly improve the daily experience of millions of Microsoft Teams users.

Feature Proposal: Compact Working Hours View

Today, even when users define their working hours, the Teams calendar continues to display the full 24-hour timeline. As a result, users must constantly scroll vertically to navigate through hours that are outside their normal work schedule.

I suggest adding an optional setting that allows the calendar to display only the configured working hours (for example, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), automatically hiding or collapsing the remaining hours.

This feature would provide several benefits:

  • Eliminate unnecessary vertical scrolling.
  • Keep the daily schedule fully visible on screen.
  • Improve productivity by allowing users to focus only on relevant hours.
  • Reduce cognitive load and the anxiety associated with managing busy calendars.
  • Offer a cleaner and more personalized planning experience.

This would be an optional view, preserving the current 24-hour layout for users who prefer it while offering a more efficient alternative for those who primarily work within defined business hours.

Although this may appear to be a small enhancement, it would improve the user experience every single day for professionals who rely on Teams as their primary scheduling tool.

Thank you for considering this proposal. I believe it would be a valuable addition to Microsoft Teams.

Kind regards,

Hi Fabiano,

Good day and thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and well-thought-out suggestion.

I can certainly see how a compact calendar view that focuses only on a user's configured working hours could help reduce scrolling and make schedule management more convenient. The benefits you described, such as improved visibility, reduced clutter, and a more personalized planning experience, are clearly explained and may resonate with many Teams and Outlook users.

Just a quick note as well: this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators here, including myself, are regular users too and don’t have the ability to change or influence Microsoft product features or design decisions. What we can do is share findings, observed behaviors, and practical tips based on experience and available information.

Because of this, I would encourage you to submit your suggestion through the Microsoft Feedback Hub, as feature requests and product enhancement ideas are typically reviewed there by the teams responsible for product planning and development. Submitting feedback through the official channel also helps ensure that your proposal is visible to the appropriate team and allows other users to vote for similar ideas.
