I am trying to change my subscription from home family to home personal. It does not give me an option to change it to home personal

I have already wasted two hours on this because microsoft makes it almost impossible to speak to a person. Simply put, I am trying to change my plan from home family to home personal effective 8/1/26. The change subscription on my account page does not give me that option. I have tried to get an answer through your AI search, your phone number which is only ai and of no help, your live chat who had no idea what to do. I need to speak to a person. Can you make this happen?

Hello

There is no way to simply switch from a higher plan to a lower plan. YOu will have to cancel the family plan first. Then subscribe to the personal plan separately.

Please go to https://account.live.com

Sign into your Microsoft account. Then go to Services. Click on Manage for the subscription plan you want to cancel.

Don't sign up for the personal plan yet. After you cancel the family plan, it is still effective until the expiration date. Then you can sign up for the personal plan. As long as you use the same Microsoft account, there won't be data loss.
