Renewal error. New subscription does not allow previous Outlook & Excel to open

I have renewed Microsoft 365 Personal but after renewal my previous Outlook & Excel files will not allow any changes or file transfers. I believe I may have bought the program without the correct previous details (although I don't know where) & therefore it is now a new purchase rather than renewal. I would like all my previous files in the new account and I have sent Emails to Microsoft about this problem but no response. Can Microsoft transfer the files to the new account for me. I would greatly appreciate a solution to the problem that I have created.

Open Word.

Go to File - Account, on that window, you will see the Email address of the Microsoft account you previously used for the Microsoft 365 subscription.

If you have taken out a new subscription on a different Microsoft account, there is no native process to switch everything over to the new Microsoft account and all your files would be synced to the OneDrive of your previous Microsoft account.

The only way to correctly resolve this would be to use the steps provided on this link to cancel the new subscription to get a refund, then take out a new subscription on the correct Microsoft account.
