Microsoft 365 subscription not recognised when I try to open an Excel file

I subscribed to Microsoft 365 Basic on an annual basis from January this year but when I try to open an Excel file I get a message saying that my subscription hasn’t been found for my e mail address. This is strange as when I log into Microsoft it using the same e mail address it says that I have a subscription so why is it saying that my subscription hasn’t been found ?

The Microsoft 365 Basic subscription entitles you to 100GB of OneDrive storage and the use of the free online Office apps in a web browser, it does not have the entitlement to install and use the Office apps on your PC, that is only available in the Microsoft 365 Personal, Family or Premium subscriptions.

Log into your Microsoft 365 account on this link, is it the Basic Microsoft 365 subscription listed there, and is there no other Office licence lsited on your account.
