Cannot add email account to outlook app on iOS

I repeatedly receive the following error message when I try add a personal email account to the outlook app on iOS: AADSTS165000: Invalid Request: The user session context is missing. One or more of the user context values (cookies; form fields; headers) were not supplied, every request must include these values and maintain them across a complete single user flow.

Please help me fix this.

Hi there!

Based on the error message you provided, it usually happens due to expired or blocked cookies, browser restrictions on iOS, corrupted app data, or network interference from a VPN or security app breaking the authentication flow.

I suggest to try the following first:

  1. Force-close and relaunch Outlook**
    2. Restart your iPhone or iPad
**3. Check for iOS and Outlook app updates
  2. Clear Safari cookies and website data on your iOS device.
  3. Ensure Safari is not blocking cookies. In Settings → Safari, make sure Block All Cookies is turned **off

**Once you have completed steps 1-5, try to setup your account again. If you are connected to a VPN, make sure to turn it off first then try to add your account on the app.
