My 3rd screen is no longer detected after last update how do I get it back?

    This is frequently related to Nvidia driver updates - which can also occur with Windows Updates - and/or (temporarily) swapping monitors.

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Under the [View] menu check 'Show hidden devices'
    3. in the Device Tree, expand Monitors
    4. Delete at least all Monitors that are 'greyed' out / semi-transparent; the inactive/not connected devices.
    5. You can even delete all entries if step 4) didn't help. They will be recreated anyway and that clean start could help
    6. Reboot

    In case you have a Nvidia videocard (possibly also for other brands, not sure) and the above didn't work; try the following too; this below always works for me ! You can try both at once, i.e. skip step 6) above if you want to.

    1. Open Registry Editor.
    2. Open they key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
    3. Delete the subkeys: Configuration, Connectivity and Scale Factor
    4. Reboot

    After the reboot all your screens will be 'Duplicated' instead of 'Extended' and also the screen order might be reset.
    To fix that again, open/search in start for: Display Settings and adjust the settings accordingly.

    Thank you, once again, Microsoft for rendering things unusable.

    After an overnight Windows update, my portable monitor, connected via USB-C is no longer detected. Port works fine. Plug in my speacker there, no issues. Monitor and cord work just fine. Plugged them into another computer. No issues. Went through drivers. Restarted with monitor plugged in and unplugged in. Nothing. No change.

    And no option to roll back to previous update.
