Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Billing through Google Play (or any other third-party store) is managed by that store, not directly in Microsoft’s own billing portal. When a Microsoft 365 subscription is purchased via a third-party billing partner, that partner controls renewal, cancellation, and payment method changes.
In this situation:
- The existing annual subscription that is billed through Google Pay continues to be managed by Google’s store.
- Any new subscription set up directly on the new computer (for example, via Microsoft’s site or Store) is a separate subscription with its own billing cycle (monthly vs annual).
- To avoid paying twice, only one active subscription should remain:
- Manage or cancel the subscription that was purchased through the third party using that store’s account management.
- Or, if the intention is to keep the Google Pay annual subscription, sign in to Microsoft 365 on the new computer with the same Microsoft account that is associated with that subscription instead of purchasing a new one.
For subscriptions purchased through third parties, subscription management (including cancelling, renewing, or changing payment method) must be done through that third party’s support or account pages.
