How to Authenticate To Azure When It Keeps Asking for a Code

I have an azure account (free) that I can't log in to. I think that somehow MFA got fouled up. The account is associated with my everyday MS account (e.g. email, Office, etc.). Let's say it's ******@live.com. When I try to log on to Azure, Azure keeps prompting for an Authenticator code. The code for ******@live.com com is an 8 digit code (for a passkey). My old phone used to have some other MS Azure (presumably) account entries, but my new phone does not. I can't find anyway to get into my Azure account. I know the account is good because I have some GitHub automation that is updating my static web site.

I've tried all the recommended fixes that I can find but none work. I think that, ultimately, MFA needs to be removed from the account so that I can log in and reestablish MFA.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
