MY QUESTION IS ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE REMOVING ONEDRIVE? THAT IS MY QUESTION. HERE IS THE SOLUTION.

This is a copy-pasta of my ORIGINAL post (edited slightly lol) since Microsoft deleted not one!! But BOTH!!! of my posts on this by detaching my screenname and making them anonymous and then HID THEM from search results. :) :) :)

Following up for those who are frustrated w/OneDrive hijacking our file paths and making things less secure.

FIRSTLY!!! CREATE A FOLDER ON YOUR DESKTOP, FOLDERIMAGES FOR IMAGES, FOLDERDOCS FOR DOCUMENTS, FOLDERDESKTOP FOR DESKTOP, ETC, ETC. SO THAT YOU DO NOT LOSE YOUR DATA AND MOVE ALL FILES IN YOUR FILE FOLDERS FROM THE ONE-DRIVE FOLDER PATH INTO THESE ONES, FOR A TEMPORARY HOUSING OF YOUR FILES.

Step 1: Disable OneDrive/Unlink OneDrive (you might need to click in the lower right box where the icon is to do this, find disable & unlink, click them, if needing more info, look elsewhere how do to that specific thing)

Step 2: Open Registry Editor by going to your Run Command, typing "regedit", and hit Enter

Step 3: In the address bar, copy/paste the following NO NEED TO EDIT THE LINES BELOW BTW!!! COPY EXACTLY AS IS, DON'T MESS W/ANYTHING ELSE.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Read all of the file paths, and any path that has "OneDrive" in the location (i.e., C:\Users\YOURPC'SNAME\OneDrive\Pictures (and anything else), right click and click "Modify" and delete the "OneDrive", so it should look like the following

C:\Users\YOURPC'SNAME\Pictures (and documents, etc)

Step 4: COPY THE FOLLOWING DOWN HERE AS WELL

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Do the EXACT same thing, scan for OneDrive, right click & modify the file name

Step 5: DOUBLE CHECK BOTH PLACES FOR "ONEDRIVE" AND MODIFY ANY AND ALL FILES THAT SAY THAT.

Step 6: Go to your "find files" area, the magnifying glass/search bar on Windows 10 & Windows 11.

Type "uninstall" and it will populate "uninstall programs/remove programs/apps".

Look for "OneDrive", and hit UNINSTALL.

It will uninstall.

Step 7: Open up your file explorer and click on the documents/pictures/desktop/etc locations AND NOW!! you should have access to them.

Step 8: Move your stuff over (copy-pasta 'em from each folder into their new homes)

THIS IS THE FIX FOR REMOVING ONEDRIVE.

I got ANOTHER computer, again, literally today, and since I've written this but it got hidden, I smartly retained the URL and was able to refer back to it.

THIS IS A FIX BECAUSE THE MICROSOFT COMMUNITY NEEDS THIS INFO SINCE IT IS VERY COMPLICATED (needlessly, I might add).

My question is: Did this help you?

Thanks Microsoft for un-attaching my credit and then still failing to deliver a real solution! Hope the community can feel confident knowing that OneDrive is FOREVER GONE! You're welcome! <3
