desktop location access

To turn off device location access on a Windows desktop:

1. Select Start > Settings.
2. Go to Privacy & security (or Privacy on some versions) > Location.
3. Do one of the following:
   • To turn off location for the whole device (requires administrator):
     1. Under Location for this device or Location services, select Change.
     2. Switch the setting to Off.
   • To turn off location just for the current user account:
     1. Under Allow apps to access your location (or Let apps access your location), switch the setting to Off.
4. Optionally, under Choose which apps can access your precise location, turn Off any apps that should not use location.
5. To clear past location history on the device, in the same Location settings page, under Location history, select Clear.

If some options are greyed out or show Some settings are managed by your organization, location may be controlled by your organization’s policies and cannot be changed locally.
