hello, so had to make a separate email a while back for my child so she could play sea of thieves with me, i have since lost the password too this email. i have gone through as far as i can in the account recovery but the questions it is asking are not able to be answered because the answer don't exist. things like emails sent to other people and their exact subjects. or even what console does this email play on (its ps5) but there isnt an option for ps5 there are only xbox options. this email was solely created to be a way for her to get on the game, you cannot unlink it either so i MUST be able to back into this email otherwise i have wasted 60 pound. the only activity. i would really appreciate some help even to get in contact without someone at Microsoft. if not any other help

Account recovery for a Microsoft account is fully automated and support cannot manually reset passwords or change account details.

To try to get back into the child’s Microsoft account used for Sea of Thieves, only the official recovery and verification flows can be used:

    1. If the username and password have simply stopped working or are forgotten:
      • Go to the Recover your account page: Recover your account.
      • Enter the email address used for the child’s Microsoft account.
      • Choose where to receive the security code (email/phone) and complete the verification steps.
      • Set a new password if verification succeeds.
      • If the message “We couldn't find an account with that username” appears, try any other alias or phone number that might be on the account, as described in My username and password have stopped working.
    2. If there is no access to the security info (recovery email/phone) anymore:
      • Use the Microsoft account recovery form process described in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form.
      • First, ensure there is a working email address that can receive updates about the recovery request (this can be any active email, including a new Outlook.com address).
      • Then submit the recovery form with as much accurate information as possible. The questions about recent emails, subjects, devices, and services are part of how ownership is verified; if enough correct detail cannot be provided, the system will not grant access.
    3. If all security info is lost and the recovery form cannot be passed:
      • Follow the guidance under Troubleshoot Microsoft verification code issuesIf you don't know your password:
        • Read the article Help with the Microsoft account recovery form carefully.
        • Submit a request via the recovery form: Recover account.
      • If the automated process still fails, the account cannot be recovered. Support agents are not allowed to override this or directly restore access.
    4. If the account may have been changed or compromised (for example, if sign‑in details were altered):

There is no supported way to bypass the recovery questions, and Microsoft support cannot manually restore access, unlink the account, or refund game purchases through the account recovery channel. If the automated recovery fails, the only remaining options are to:

    • Continue trying the recovery form with any additional accurate details that can be remembered, or
    • Use a different Microsoft account for future purchases and sign‑ins.
