Use the Microsoft billing tools first, then contact a live support agent with the billing details so the duplicate subscription charge can be reviewed and refunded if eligible.

    1. Investigate both charges
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate for the unrecognized or duplicate charge:
      • This helps identify which Microsoft 365 subscriptions or accounts each card is being billed under.
    2. Check refund eligibility
      • Once the duplicate subscription or extra account is identified, use the refund flow for Microsoft subscriptions:
      • If the second charge is a recent, unintended renewal, it may be eligible for a refund according to the refund policy.
    3. Contact a live Microsoft support agent
      • If the self-service tools do not resolve the issue or the two accounts/charges are confusing, contact Microsoft Support directly so an agent can review both accounts and cards:
      • Have ready: the last 4 digits of each card, the dates and amounts of both charges, and any order numbers shown in your account.
    4. If Microsoft and support cannot locate one of the charges
      • If the support agent confirms that one of the charges does not appear on any Microsoft account, contact the bank or card issuer to dispute that transaction as a potential fraudulent or misapplied charge. The bank can also block the card and issue a new one if needed.
