I don’t remember the Microsoft Family Safety organizer email

Hello, I need help with Microsoft Family Safety.

Some time ago, I created a Microsoft family account and paid for a family subscription, but I forgot which Hotmail/Outlook email address I used as the family organizer.

The issue is that I now need to give parental consent so my niece can access her account, but Microsoft is asking for the adult account to be part of the family or for me to use the correct organizer account.

I do remember creating this family group and paying for the subscription, but I don’t remember the exact email address used to access it. If Microsoft can help me identify the email address associated with my family group or subscription, I should be able to recover the password.

Could you please help me find out which organizer email is associated with my Microsoft Family Safety / family subscription?

Microsoft Family Safety and Microsoft 365 subscriptions are tied to a specific personal Microsoft account (email address). If the organizer email is forgotten, the only supported options are to:

    1. Check which Microsoft account was used with the subscription
      • Sign in to each possible Microsoft account (Hotmail/Outlook or other email addresses that might have been used) at the Microsoft account dashboard: Microsoft account dashboard.
      • After signing in, go to the account’s services/subscriptions area to see if a Microsoft 365 Family (or other Microsoft 365) subscription is present. The organizer account for the family subscription is the Microsoft account that owns that subscription.
      • If a subscription is found, this is the organizer account that can manage the family group and give parental consent.
    2. Use Microsoft’s guided help for account issues
      • If none of the likely email addresses work or the correct account cannot be identified, use the guided “Can’t sign in” help for Microsoft accounts from the account help page and follow the flow to locate or recover the correct account: start from the “Can’t sign in” section and use the guided tool: Start.
    3. Check email accounts for Microsoft purchase receipts
      • Check all personal email inboxes (including non-Hotmail/Outlook addresses) for receipts from Microsoft for Microsoft 365 Family or other subscriptions. The receipt emails will show which Microsoft account was used, helping identify the organizer email.
    4. Once the organizer account is found
      • Sign in to the organizer account and go to the Microsoft Family Safety / family portal (for example, via the Microsoft account dashboard and family settings) to manage the family group.
      • From there, add the adult account that must give consent, or directly manage the child’s account and parental consent as required.

If the organizer account cannot be identified or recovered using the above methods, there is no supported way in the provided information to look up the organizer email from outside the account system; a new family group and setup may be required once a working Microsoft account is available.
