I WANT TO CLOSE MY MICROSOFT ACCOUNT. MY NEW LP CAN NOT OPEN ANYTHING MICROSOFT. I HAVE BEEN AROUND THE WORLD WITH MICROSOFT 'AI' AND WITH THE LP EXPERTS. LP BLAMES MICROSOFT FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK THROUGH THE ROUTER AND MOCROSOFT BLAMES LP FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO WORK. I TRIED TO FIND AND FIX THE PROBLEM FOR TWO MONTHS BY WORKING SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE LP EXPERTS AND WITH MICROSOFT. BUT, I CAN NOT OPEN MY ACCOUNT TO GET THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO REQUEST A REFUND. I WILL NOT WASTE ANY MORE OF MY LIFE TRYING TO FIGUE OUT WHY MICROSFT WILL NOT WORK IN MY COMPUTER. I WANT A REFUND FOR WHAT THE COPILOT COST. BUT I CAN NOT REQUEST A REFUND WITHOUT LOGGING IN. THAT IS THE WHOLE ISSUE. I CAN NOT GET INTO MY ACCOUNT THEREFORE I AM UNABLE TO RECOVER THE INFORMATION MICROSOFT REQUIRES IN ORDER TO REQUEST A REFUND. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORDER NUMBER NOR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT MY ACCOUNT. IT WOULD BE JUST WONDERFUL TO SPEAK TO A HUNBAN-BEING AND EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM. BUT I CAN NOT GET THROUGH TO ANY MICROSOFT HELP.

To request a refund and cancel a Microsoft subscription when sign-in is not possible, the only supported paths are:

    1. Use account recovery or billing investigation tools
      • Go to the Microsoft account dashboard and use the Can't sign in guided tool to recover the account or identify the correct one: Microsoft account dashboard → select Start under Can't sign in.
      • For unrecognized or unclear charges, use the billing investigation guidance here: Payment and billing help.
    2. If the subscription was bought through Apple App Store or Google Play
      • If Copilot or Microsoft 365 was purchased via a mobile app store, Microsoft cannot cancel or refund it directly.
      • For Google Play purchases, see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
      • For Apple App Store purchases, request a refund from Apple support.
    3. If sign-in is possible after recovery, cancel and trigger refund
      • For Microsoft 365 subscriptions:
        1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the account that purchased the subscription.
        2. Find the subscription and select Manage.
        3. Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on-screen steps.
        4. Refund eligibility depends on country/region and timing; some countries (for example Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey) may allow prorated refunds after cancellation.
      • For Copilot Pro:
        1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the purchasing account.
        2. Find Copilot Pro, select Manage, then Cancel and follow the instructions.
        3. Refund eligibility depends on the Copilot Pro refund window for the country/region (for many regions, cancel within 14 days of initial purchase; some regions allow prorated refunds at any time).
    4. If cancellation cannot be done because the account truly cannot be accessed
      • When the Microsoft account cannot be accessed or recovered and no sign-in is possible, online cancellation and refund processing through the account is not available.
      • In similar situations (for example, where an elderly family member cannot access the account), guidance is to either:
        • Follow Microsoft’s formal account ownership/legal process where applicable, or
        • Cancel the recurring charge directly with the bank or card issuer so future payments stop.
      • For existing charges already taken, the bank or card issuer can also assist with disputing transactions if they are considered unauthorized.
    5. Contacting Microsoft Support directly
      • For complex billing issues or when self-service paths fail, contact Microsoft Support via the official Contact Microsoft Support entry point. From there, select the appropriate product (Microsoft 365 / billing) and use Get HelpContact Support to reach chat or callback options.

Because refund processing requires account and billing verification, any refund for Copilot or Microsoft 365 must ultimately go through either:

    • Successful sign-in to the correct Microsoft account and use of the cancellation/refund flow, or
    • The payment provider (bank/card/app store) if the Microsoft account cannot be accessed.
