A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
To speak with a real person at Microsoft about the account recovery issue, use one of these supported contact paths:
- Use the Sign-in / account recovery helpers
- For hacked/compromised or locked Microsoft accounts (including Xbox/Minecraft sign-in), start with the guided tool here: Start.
- If recovery keeps failing, review the guidance in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form and then submit the recovery form again with as much accurate information as possible.
- Contact Microsoft Support via web/chat If self-service and the recovery form are not working, contact Support and request a live agent:
- Go to the Microsoft Support site and use the Contact Support / Get Help flow (as described in the Q&A answers):
- Search for “Account Recovery” or “recover account”.
- Skip the automated troubleshooting articles until the Contact Support or Chat with a support agent in your web browser option appears.
- When asked for product/category, choose options such as:
- Products and Services → Microsoft 365 and Office → Manage Account Security, or
- Other Products → Manage Account Security.
- Choose chat or “Call me back” to speak with a person.
- You can sign in with any working Microsoft account (or create a new one) just to open the support case, even if the problem is with a different, locked account.
- If the account is unrecoverable If the recovery form is repeatedly rejected and security info (email/phone) was changed by someone else, the account may be unrecoverable. In that case:
- Follow the compromised-account guidance: How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account.
- For Minecraft-specific access or purchase issues, contact the Minecraft team via their support channel mentioned in the Q&A answer.
These are the only supported ways to get a human involved; forum contributors and most support channels cannot directly override the automated recovery checks or change account details without a successful recovery form.
