My original Microsoft account was registered at the Excite.com domain. Excite.com no longer exist. How do I transfer my Excite.com accounts to this new account?

My original registered email address was; ******@excite.com

My new address is; ******@gmail.com

My Gateway and Lenovo laptops and my Outlook was registered at ******@excite.com but I can't reset a password or access that email because Excite no longer offers personal email addresses. -Thank you

Microsoft accounts and their sign-in email addresses cannot be manually “transferred” by support; recovery and changes are handled only through the automated self-service tools.

    Use these steps:

    1. Confirm whether the Excite.com address is still a Microsoft account
      • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page at https://account.microsoft.com and enter the Excite.com email.
      • If a password prompt appears, that email is still a Microsoft account.
      • If the message "We couldn't find an account with that username" or "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" appears, follow the guidance in How to check if your email address is a Microsoft account and My username and password have stopped working.
    2. Try to recover the Microsoft account that uses the Excite.com address
      • Use Recover your account at https://account.live.com/password/reset as described in My username and password have stopped working.
      • Enter the Excite.com email and follow the prompts to receive a security code using any verification options still on the account (alternate email, phone, etc.).
      • If the verification options shown are no longer accessible, select the option indicating none of them are available and proceed to the recovery form.
    3. Use the Sign-in Helper and account recovery form if normal reset fails
      • Start with the Sign-in Helper tool: Sign-in Helper. It will guide through sign-in issues and, if needed, direct to the recovery form.
      • Before filling the form, ensure there is a working email where Microsoft can contact about the recovery request (for example, the Gmail address). This contact email is only used for the recovery process.
      • Then complete the Account recovery form: Account recovery form. Use a device and location previously used with the Excite-based Microsoft account if possible.
      • Provide as much information as possible about services used with that account (Outlook/Hotmail, Skype, Xbox, etc.), old passwords, and other details, as described in Help with the Microsoft account recovery form. The more accurate information provided, the better the chance of regaining access.
    4. If the account truly no longer exists or cannot be recovered
      • If the sign-in page and recovery tools consistently report that the Microsoft account does not exist, or recovery fails after review, that account may have been closed or deleted. In that case, it cannot be reopened or transferred.
      • Devices (Gateway, Lenovo) and Outlook profiles that were registered with the Excite.com Microsoft account will need to be re-associated with the new Microsoft account (Gmail-based) after signing in with the new account on each device/service.
    5. For hacked/compromised scenarios
      • If the issue is that the Excite-based Microsoft account was compromised rather than just unreachable, follow the guidance in How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account, starting with the sign-in helper tool: Start.

Note: Support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details manually. All recovery and any effective “transfer” of ownership (by regaining access and then adding/removing aliases) must go through the automated recovery tools and forms.
