Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
The charge is most likely an unexpected or unrecognized Microsoft billing transaction that is not clearly visible as a subscription on the current account. Use these steps to investigate and resolve it:
- Investigate the charge in the Microsoft account dashboard
- Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate for the unrecognized charge. This guided flow helps identify whether it is:
- A Microsoft subscription with recurring billing enabled
- A purchase made by someone else using the card
- A previously declined charge that was later processed
- A pre-order or split order that has now shipped
- An in‑app purchase from an app or game

- Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate for the unrecognized charge. This guided flow helps identify whether it is:
- Check for subscriptions and order history on all possible Microsoft accounts
- Sign in to account.microsoft.com/services with any Microsoft account that might have been used.
- Look for any Microsoft 365, Xbox, or other subscriptions with recurring billing enabled that match the amount.
- Also sign in to account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and:
- Select Payment & billing > Order history.
- Refine by date range around the transaction date.
- Look for orders with status Completed or Redeemed and an amount of $129.99.
- Consider timing and account mix‑ups
- If a subscription was cancelled too close to the billing date (less than 2 days before), a final charge can still occur. Check the subscription end date on the Subscriptions page.
- If there are multiple Microsoft accounts, the charge may be tied to a different account than the one currently checked.
- If the purchase is accidental or unauthorized
- For accidental or unauthorized purchases, use the refund process for Microsoft Store items: see Returning items you bought from Microsoft for exchange or refund from the support article.
- If the charge is clearly unauthorized and cannot be matched to any Microsoft account or order:
- Contact the bank or card issuer to dispute the transaction (chargeback) and report it as unauthorized.
- Consider blocking the card and requesting a new one to prevent further misuse.
- If there are multiple or duplicate charges
- If there appears to be a duplicate charge for the same order, contact Microsoft Store Support with the Microsoft account and order number so they can review and correct duplicate billing.
If, after using the Manage your payments investigation tool and checking all accounts and order history, the charge still cannot be identified, the next step is to work with Microsoft Store Support and the bank/card issuer in parallel: Microsoft can help locate or cancel any associated subscription, and the bank can protect the card and process a dispute if needed.
