I missed the July 13 deadline. Do I need to buy a new computer now?

There is an update that keeps popping up on my screen when using office suite, like Word or Excel. It says that my office may not be editable documents by July 13, 2026, if I don't update my iOS on Mac. what should I do? I'm also graduating from college so I'm not sure if they schools Microsoft office, will be deleted.

My Mac system has been update to version 12 but I don’t know why my Microsoft 365 still not possible to activate & send error 0x0 . I need personal talk w/ your CS not AI!!
Thank you for reaching out.
As far as I know, starting July 13, 2026, Microsoft Office apps on Mac and iOS devices that are not running on supported versions may enter a reduced functionality mode. In this state, you will still be able to open and view documents, but you won’t be able to edit, save, or create new files.
To avoid this issue, you consider to:
Update your Mac to macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, or update your iPhone/iPad to iOS 17 or later.
Ensure your Office apps are updated to the latest version.
Once both your operating system and Office apps are up to date, everything should continue working normally.
Regarding your school account, if your Microsoft 365 license is provided by your university, it will typically expire after you graduate. When this happens, the apps may also switch to reduced functionality mode, and you may lose access to services such as OneDrive or Outlook associated with that account. Therefore, I recommend backing up your files to a personal account or local storage before graduation to prevent any data loss.
