Hello,

I am unable to access my Microsoft 365 suite - I need this urgently. I have updated the payment method and one amount of R159, 00 has been deducted - but I am unable to pay for any further subscriptions - is my account locked????????

The account is most likely blocked from further payments because there is a past-due or declined charge that the bank or card issuer is not allowing, or because the account itself may be locked.

    Take these steps in order:

    1. Verify the subscription status
      1. Close all Office apps.
      2. Go to the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
      3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used for Microsoft 365.
      4. Check under the Microsoft 365 heading whether the subscription is Active, Expired, or Past due.
      5. If it shows Past due or Expired, follow the on-screen steps there to pay the outstanding balance or renew.
    2. Check payment method and past-due balance
      1. Go to the Payment options page: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments
      2. Sign in with the same account.
      3. If the payment method shows an error or a declined status, update the card details (number, expiry date, name, billing address) so they exactly match the bank statement.
      4. Confirm there are sufficient funds and that the card supports recurring/online payments.
      5. If there is an outstanding balance, pay it from the Services & subscriptions page; a previously declined card can cause the subscription to be suspended until the balance is cleared.
    3. If the card keeps being declined
      1. Contact the bank or card issuer and ask why Microsoft charges are being blocked or declined (for example, international transactions disabled, credit limit reached, or recurring payments blocked).
      2. If necessary, use a different card or payment method and add it on the Services & subscriptions page, then move the subscription to that method.
    4. If the Microsoft account itself is locked
      1. If sign-in does not show a Next button or indicates the account is locked, follow the aka.ms link shown on the sign-in page to submit the account reinstatement form.
      2. Wait for the Microsoft Online Safety support agent to review and respond by email; do not submit multiple forms.
    5. If access is still blocked after these steps
      1. Use the guided support or contact Microsoft Support for billing help, as billing adjustments and account unlocks require secure tools that self-service pages and community forums do not provide.
