I have a charge from May 12 for $130 that I can not identify. It was charged to a card I didn't even have on file with Microsoft. I checked my account and it is showing no charges for the last 60 days. I would like to chat with someone but I hit Contact us and get put into a loop that just brings me back to Community Forum.

Use the Microsoft billing investigation tools and then contact Microsoft Support directly.

    1. Investigate the unknown charge
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate for the card or charge in question. This tool helps identify what the charge is for and which account or product it is associated with. How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.
      • Common causes include:
        • A Microsoft subscription with recurring billing enabled.
        • A family member or someone else using the card.
        • A previously declined charge that was later processed.
        • In‑app purchases or game/app purchases.
    2. Check for multiple accounts or duplicate charges
      • Review order history for each Microsoft account that might be associated with the card to see if there are multiple subscriptions or purchases.
      • If there are multiple payments on the bank statement but only one in the order history, another Microsoft account (for example, a family member) may be using the same card. From Payment options, select Investigate to search for other accounts using the card.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support (chat or phone)
      • If the charge still cannot be identified or does not appear in any order history, contact Microsoft Support directly for billing assistance. Use the official Contact – Microsoft Support entry point and follow the flow for Microsoft 365 & Office → Manage my subscription / Billing and Payment Updates → Chat with a support agent in your web browser, as described in the referenced Q&A guidance.
    4. If the charge is unauthorized
      • If neither Microsoft nor any of the Microsoft accounts can be linked to the charge, contact the bank or card issuer to dispute the transaction (chargeback) and report it as potentially fraudulent. The bank can reverse the transaction and may block or replace the card.
