A Microsoft application for managing email, calendars, contacts, and tasks across devices and platforms.
Hi April Breyman,
Your IT team is partly right: @msn.com and @outlook.com can be aliases on the same Microsoft account, but they are not automatically interchangeable on every third-party site. Those sites store one exact login ID, so if they changed it to @outlook.com, using @msn.com can fail.
Fix:
- Sign in to Microsoft account and verify aliases at
account.microsoft.com> Your info > Manage how you sign in. - Keep both aliases (if available) and set the one you want as primary.
- For each external account, ask support to set your login/username back to the exact
@msn.comaddress (or use the@outlook.comone consistently if they cannot).
If they say they “can’t change it,” ask for an identity/login table update by an admin, because this is an app-side username mapping issue, not an Outlook mailbox issue.
Regards,
