Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

If your bank has confirmed there are no issues on their end, please make sure the country/region on your Microsoft account matches the country/region of your credit card and billing address. A mismatch can cause payments to be declined.

"Change your country or region in Microsoft Store: Microsoft account" https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/change-your-country-or-region-in-microsoft-store-5895e006-34f4-10f7-16b1-999e40adb048#windowsversion=microsoft_account

"Update a Microsoft account payment method" https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/update-a-microsoft-account-payment-method-2ca44141-c10d-a693-7ea6-3a22f5213283

If issue still persists, to help narrow down the issue:

  1. What exact error message do you receive when you try to make the payment?
  2. Do you currently have an active Microsoft 365 subscription linked to this account?
  3. Was your Microsoft 365 subscription originally purchased in a different country or region?

For Microsoft 365 and Office subscriptions, several common issues can cause all cards to be rejected even when the bank reports no problem:

    1. Payment method must match tenant country/region
      • The card must be issued in the same country/region as the Microsoft 365 tenant.
      • If the cards are from a different country/region, they will not be accepted.
    2. Unsupported card types
      • Prepaid, stored-value, gift, or virtual cards (for example, Visa gift cards, MasterCard gift cards) are not accepted.
      • A standard credit or debit card from a bank is required.
    3. Incorrect or inconsistent card details
      • The card number, expiration date, name, address (including city, state, and ZIP/postal code), and CVV must exactly match what the bank has on file and what appears on the statement.
      • If any detail differs, the transaction can be declined.
    4. Bank-side security or blocking
      • Even if the bank says the card is fine, they may still be blocking:
        • International transactions
        • Online/recurring payments
      • Ask the bank specifically to check for blocked Microsoft or international/online charges and to temporarily allow them.
    5. Outstanding balance or past-due payments
      • If there is an outstanding balance on the subscription, Microsoft may keep retrying the existing payment method and show errors when updating or charging.
      • Ensure any past-due subscription payments are cleared.
    6. Card cannot be changed in-place
      • For some business accounts, the existing card on a payment method cannot be edited to a different card number. Instead, add a new payment method and move subscriptions to it, then delete the old one if allowed.

If all of the above are correct and the cards are still rejected, the next step is to contact Microsoft support for billing so they can review the payment attempt and provide guidance.

The Microsoft portal is not accepting the change of credit card. All details are correct, the bank says there is no issue with my cards. I have tried multiple cards.

I am also facing the same problem with Microsoft 365 account. I am unable to renew. I tried with three different cards, but it's no longer accepting. In the profile, my region is same as the card billing address.
