Amex MS transactions

Hi, you have started charging us 8.95 a month. We have had no notification of this to our email ******@gmail.com. What are these charges? who requested them?

I have looked on our account with our email address and I can't see any subscriptions, or actually the 100GB storage we pay for.

I have asked Amex to dispute the 8.95 until i get a reply from you

thanks

The $8.95 charges are Microsoft billing transactions, but only the Microsoft account system can show exactly which subscription or purchase they belong to. Use the built‑in investigation tools to see what they are and which account requested them.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and sign in with the email address that is being used for Microsoft purchases: Manage your payments.
    2. Next to the payment card that matches the Amex used for the $8.95 charges, select Investigate. This tool checks for:
      • Subscriptions with recurring billing enabled
      • Purchases made by family members or other Microsoft accounts using the same card
      • Previously declined charges that were later retried
      • In‑app or game purchases
    3. Compare what is shown there with the Amex dates and amounts. If there is a subscription you do not want, cancel it from Services & subscriptions and, if appropriate, request a refund using the refund process linked from the investigation page.
    4. If no matching charge appears on this Microsoft account, repeat step 1–3 for any other Microsoft accounts that might be using the same Amex card (for example, a family member’s account). The article on duplicate charges explains that multiple accounts using the same card is a common cause of unexpected payments.
    5. If still no matching charge is found, contact Microsoft Billing Support directly so they can review the charges with access to account details.

For the missing 100 GB storage plan, note that standalone OneDrive 100 GB plans have been upgraded to Microsoft 365 Basic. Check the Services & subscriptions section of the Microsoft account to confirm that a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription is active instead of a separate “OneDrive 100 GB” entry.

Since Amex is already disputing the $8.95 charges, ensure that any unwanted subscription found via the steps above is cancelled to prevent further billing.
