Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For unauthorized or incorrect charges of a Microsoft 365 subscription, especially when it is supposed to be an education/enterprise license owned by a school, the only way to correct billing or request a refund is through Microsoft’s official support channels, because account and payment details are not accessible or changeable via community or self‑service alone.
Steps to resolve the charge:
- Gather information
- Date and amount of the charge.
- Last 4 digits and type of the payment method that was charged.
- The email address that appears on the invoice/receipt.
- Any proof that the subscription should belong to the school (for example, school domain address, confirmation from the school IT/bursar).
- Confirm with the school
- Contact the Colégio’s IT or administration and explain that the enterprise/education subscription is being billed to a personal email/payment method.
- Ask them to verify which account is licensed under the school’s tenant and to remove the personal email from any paid assignment if it should not be billed.
- Contact Microsoft billing support
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that is being billed.
- Go to the Microsoft support contact page and start a billing/support session (chat or “call me back”).
- Choose the Microsoft 365/Office product and a billing or subscription category.
- Clearly state that:
- The subscription is an enterprise/education license that should be owned and paid by the school.
- The personal email was associated incorrectly and is being charged.
- A refund or credit is requested for the unauthorized charges and for the subscription to be cancelled or transferred off the personal payment method.
- If the charge is recent and clearly unauthorized
- Ask support to check refund eligibility for those transactions.
- If the payment was made by card and support confirms it cannot be refunded, contact the bank with the support case number to dispute the charge.
- Prevent future charges
- In the Microsoft account’s Services & subscriptions area, cancel any personal Microsoft 365 subscription that should not exist, or remove the payment method once support confirms cancellation.
- Ensure that future access to Microsoft 365 for the daughter uses only the school‑provided account (usually with the school domain) and not the personal email.
Because this involves billing and potential refunds, resolution must go through Microsoft’s official billing/customer support; community or automated tools cannot fix or credit the account.
