Try the following steps to complete authentication on the new phone:

    1. Make sure the Microsoft Authenticator app is unlocked and open on the new phone. If the app is locked, the entry box or approval prompt may not appear.
    2. Check that notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator on the phone (no silent/blocked notifications). If notifications are off, open the app directly and look for the sign-in request or one-time code.
    3. Confirm the app is up to date by installing the latest version of Microsoft Authenticator.
    4. Ensure the phone has a working internet connection (try switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data) so the sign-in request can reach the device.
    5. Verify the phone’s date and time settings are correct and set to update automatically.
    6. If the sign-in is asking for a code, use the one-time password (OTP) code shown for that account inside the Authenticator app, even if no pop-up appears. Many sign-in pages have a field where the 6‑digit code can be typed manually.
    7. If the sign-in is expecting a push notification but nothing appears, try choosing “Use a different verification method” (if shown) and select SMS, voice call, or email as an alternative, then complete sign-in and review/update your security info.
    8. If none of the above works and you still cannot complete sign-in, use the Reset your password option on the sign-in page if available, or contact your organization’s IT admin to reset your authentication methods.
